This ‘Diary’ was imagined and recorded during Covid lockdowns in 2020-2021. The ‘Destruction’ in the title refers to specific personal circumstances as well as the more general virus threat and its unprecedented effects on our lives.
We never imagined it as a depiction of anything else. It was an escapist focus while confined inside, unable to meet up and unable to travel.
This was - and is - the point of ‘Diaries of Destruction’: if it’s about anything it’s about creation and valuing the creative process of life itself; choosing a way beyond what’s destroyed, somehow getting through unsettling times, rather than giving in to despair.
Covid hasn’t gone - it’s evolving - but just as it’s begun to seem more manageable and even forgotten by some, a very different and senseless destructiveness threatens another place, people and way of life. Few imagined it at the start of this year, that one choice would take away so many others, crashing nightmares of the past back into the present. The future seems even more uncertain, and the long ways to defuse and rebuild far from clear.
We’re choosing to release Diaries of Destruction at the spring equinox, when light overtakes darkness in this part of our shared pale blue dot with its cycles of destruction and creation. Any ‘pay as you want’ donations will be sent to UNICEF, the United Nations agency that provides humanitarian aid to children worldwide.

I love this band and the sound that they produce, but there is at times unacceptable distortion and complete overload on some of the tracks especially on Once Proud Eyes/Haumea near the end of the track. With this kind of music it's sometimes hard to distinguish if the distortion is part of the sound that is being created. I think more attention should be paid to the final mastering. Having said this Darkroom are a band of GREAT talent. coypu
You’d expect an album titled “Velociraptor” to be heavy and this doesn’t disappoint, as it’s jam-packed with serrated noise & feedback. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 22, 2023
As Deuce Avenue, Noah Anthony explores an unhurried, warm style of drone music that is less abrasive and more subliminally soothing. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 10, 2020

Another superb release from this highly underrated unit. The duo's mastery of electronics perfectly compliments the very human elements of guitar and woodwind often found at the centre of their compelling music. This release, beautifully packaged, sits among their finest work and is sure to be appreciated by anyone with an interest in ambient, drone, electronica and the chilliest fringes of techno. Make room for the darkness! bobafett5001
